Cookie Policy

1.WHAT IS A COOKIE AND WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE?

Cookies were created in 1994 by Lou Montulli, an employee of Netscape, to solve the problems relating to the limitations concerning the identification of computers connected to a web page. Without cookies, the websites are unable to know whether two requests stem from the same device, which is why it is necessary to assign some labels to them.

Cookies are saved in the hard disk or in the memory of the visitor’s computer. A cookie is a small-size file sent from a web server (namely, the computer on which the website visited is running) to the user’s browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and saved on your device whenever you visit an Internet website, such as Kemiplast. Cookies enable an efficient operation of the website and improve its performance, in addition to providing information to the owner of Kemiplast for statistical or advertising purposes, mainly in order to customise the browsing experience by remembering preferences and browsing modes.

A cookie can be equated to an exclusively personal identification card, whose task is to notify Kemiplast when you come back to the website. Several websites, including the website www.kemiplast.it (the “Website”), make use of them. Cookies say how often you visit the webpages, and this helps us understand which information might be of interest to visitors. In this manner, we can offer more contents that interest a specific customer behaviour and less contents that are out of line with what might be of interest to the user. Cookies permit greater efficiency and help memorise preferences and user names, record products and services, and customise pages.

Cookies do not collect information identifying the user directly. Kemiplast, in fact, cannot trace its steps back to any directly identifying personal information (e.g. name, surname) unless directly provided by the user. Moreover, another website cannot use a cookie issued by the Website so as to access other information in the user’s computer. Once saved on the computer, the cookie can only be read by the website that created it (hence, in our case, by www.kemiplast.it ). Essentially, if one does not register with the Website and no personal information is entered, the only thing the server knows is that someone with that cookie is visiting us again. Nothing more than that.

Cookies can be either “session-based” (when they are memorised exclusively for the duration of the website browsing session and are cancelled once the browser is closed) or “permanent” (they are memorised for a longer time, until their expiry or until removal by the user).

2.THE COOKIES USED BY THE WEBSITE

Kemiplast makes use of different types of cookies and similar technologies, each one with a specific function.

In order to optimise use of the website and the customised characteristics, the computer, the tablet or the mobile device must accept the cookies. Our privacy policy on use of the cookies provides information on the type of cookies used and on the way to manage, control and clear them.

We would like to point out that cookies do not damage your device.

HTTP (Browser) cookies
From the first login, these cookies allow the website to function properly and enable you to view the contents on your device recognising the language and the market of the country you have chosen to connect from. Browser (http) cookies are technical cookies and are necessary for the operation of the website.

These cookies are usually temporary, also known as “session cookies “, and are issued by the Website on the user’s computer during the browsing, but are memorised exclusively for the duration of the browsing session itself. This means that when the user closes his browser, the cookies are automatically cleared and disappear, without the computer memorising them. They consist of casual numbers generated by the server and their purpose is to enable the safe and efficient exploration of the Website.

Functional cookies
These cookies permit us, based on your express request, to facilitate the user’s browsing inside the Website, for instance by recognising you at the time of subsequent log-ins, thereby exempting you from the need to re-enter your data on each new visit (e.g.: “Recognise me next time”, so-called authentication cookies).

Functional cookies are not essential to the operation of the website, but improve the browsing quality and experience.

Analytics cookies
These cookies are used in order to elaborate statistical analyses on the browsing modes of our website users.

Kemiplast processes the results of these analyses anonymously and purely for statistical purposes, only if the service provider uses the cookies in connection with the browser utilised or on other devices used to browse through the website. The website uses some third-party services that, in a fully independent manner, install their own cookies.

Marketing and profiling cookies

These cookies aim to create user-related profiles in order to send commercial messages that coincide with the preferences expressed during the visit or improve your browsing experience: while browsing through our website, these cookies help to show you products of interest to you or similar to those you viewed. These cookies are issued by the Website on the user’s computer during browsing and are memorised even past the duration of the browsing session itself, until their expiry or until they are cleared by the user himself (the “permanent cookies”).

Use of these cookies require the user’s express and informed consent.

Social Network cookies
These cookies are necessary to enable your social network account to interact with our Website. They for instance serve the purpose of letting you express your appreciation and share it with your social network friends. Social network cookies are not necessary for browsing.
